Obituary of Grace Jenelle Hensley Corley

Columbia---A graveside service for Grace Corley, 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Park officiated by Reverend Terry Smoak. The family will receive friends at the graveside beginning at 9:30 A.M. until the hour of the service. Grace was born March 31, 1923 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Clarence and Beatrice Hensley. Being a devout Christian, Grace was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 41 years prior to joining Kilbourne Park Baptist Church. She attended faithfully the gone but not forgotten Dorcas/Gleaners Sunday School Class until ill health forced her to remain home. Most of her adult life was spent as a stay at home mom, briefly working for several printing companies where she enjoyed mastering the bindery skills. Grace loved working in the yard, making crafts, sewing and hosting many family gatherings. Other than her parents, Grace was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband of 71 years, Charles M. Corley, four brothers, one sister and a granddaughter. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jenelle and Charles Stewart of Marietta, Georgia; Rosemary and Stanley Higgins of Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Teresa Corley of Sumter; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Mable Harley of Augusta, Georgia; many loving nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, 4205 Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
