Obituary of Grover Kelly

WEST COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Grover "Nink" Kelly, 78, of West Columbia, will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172. Mr. George Sturkie will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 will be assisting the family. Mr. Kelly passed away on June 9, 2014. Born in Columbia he was the son of the late John L. Kelly, Sr. and Bertha Neeley Kelly. He was a lifetime area resident of South Congaree. Surviving are his sisters, Geneva Shields of Eldred, PA, Aileen Taylor of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Jean Oswald of Pine Ridge. He was predeceased by six brothers, Woodrow, Cleve, Reynard, Robert, John and Earl Kelly and five sisters, Edna Hoffman, Joyce Graham, Ellen Marthers, Era Reh and Gertrude Spigner.
