Obituary of Norman P. Isbell
COLUMBIA—Funeral service for Norman P. Isbell, will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mr. Isbell, beloved husband of 12 years to Genevieve Dupy Isbell, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born in Beckley, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Harold Isbell and Maude Blankenship Isbell. Mr. Isbell proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After he left the Navy he began his working career at Lockheed Martin for 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Spring Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church. Norman enjoyed the outdoors, puzzles and was the Community Handyman helping others.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Isbell; daughter, Mary Araziga and husband, John of Perry Hall, MD; son, James Isbell of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren, Jesse Isbell and Justin Isbell; two great-granddaughters; brothers, Troy Richards and Curt Richards. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Isbell.
