Obituary of Riveus J. Vincent

A memorial service celebrating the life Riveus J. "Vince" Vincent, 82, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Vincent departed this earthly life on Monday, June 23, 2014. He was born in Gueydan, Louisiana to the late Saul Vincent and Lillian Guidry Vincent. Mr. Vincent retired from the United States Army as Master Sergeant after 23 years of dedicated service to our country. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Michael's Catholic Church on Fort Jackson Army Base. Mr. Vincent was predeceased by two grandsons, Brandon Johnson and Max Sloman. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, JoAnn LeBlanc Vincent; two daughters, Brenda Johnson and Theresa Sloman (Todd); a son, Dennis Vincent; a sister, Priscilla "Pay" Stansel; a brother, Sidney Vincent; seven grandchildren, Nancy Johnson, Matthew Vincent, Kenneth Vincent, Alex Sloman, Sara Sloman, Luke Sloman, and Anthony Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Vincent, Maileigh Vincent, and Christopher Vincent; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
