Obituary of Nesbitt Arnold Lester

CAYCE—Funeral services for Nesbitt Arnold Lester, 72, of Cayce, will be held at 12 noon, Friday, June 27, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. The Reverend Mark Bredholt will officiate. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Russell, Yankee Clayton, Mitch Rolands, Michael Russell, D.J. Russell, Todd Olithant and Ryan Lopicclo. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the funeral home. Mr. Lester, beloved husband for 40 years to the late, Billie Jean Lester, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Nesbitt Rosshell Lester and Hatttie Evalee Hawkins Lester. He was a lifetime area resident. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and jokester. He also loved playing the Lottery and taking care of the neighbors. Surviving are his daughter, Debra Lester (David Russell) of Cayce; two grandsons, D.J. and Michael and four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Chase, Deven, and Austin; sister, Myra McLane (Brian) of Irmo; step-grandchildren, Michael and DJ; three nephews, Todd, Chris and Brian. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherrie Anne Porter Fields.
