Obituary of Helen Crider Newman

Helen Crider Newman went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 30, 2014. Helen was born on August 11, 1924 in St. Matthews, SC. She was the daughter of the late Dan and Willie Mae Crider. Helen retired from Baptist Hospital and she was a dedicated member of South Beltline Baptist Church. For 21 years, she made her home with her grandson, Ron Bonnette. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her children, Gloria Brazell, Frank Newman, Jr.(Judy), Danny Newman, and Betty Hill; three sisters, Joyce Sharpe, Carolyn Freeman, and Joan Carter (Don); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Newman, Sr.; a daughter, Annette Lovell; a grandson, Danny Newman, Jr.; a sister, Edith Miles; a brother, Alonzo Crider; and son-in-laws, Fred C. Hill and David Brazell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape' Senior Foundation, 1053 Center Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. A graveside service celebrating the life of Helen Crider Newman will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
