Obituary of Leon Cecil Hall

WEST COLUMBIA-A memorial service for Leon Cecil "Sonny" Hall, Jr. 85, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Pastor Chet Andrews will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m.to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Hall died Thursday, July 3, 2014. Born in Columbia, SC on October 16, 1928, he was a son of the late Leon Cecil Hall, Sr. and Mattie Bundrick Hall. Sonny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was the owner and operator of Meeting Street Motors for 44 years. Sonny was also a 32nd Degree Mason with the Springdale Masonic Lodge. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Doris Wilson Hall of West Columbia; sister, Claudia Shealy (Harvey) of Red Bank; brother, Ralph Hall (Peggy) of Belle Center, OH; four grandchildren, Laurie, Robbie, Trevis and Drew; and four great-grandchildren, Todd, Haley, Madden and Anne; also survived by his aunt Gladys Bickley, and Cindy Hall. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry H. Peele and son, Larry C. Hall.
