Obituary of Julia Henderson

COLUMBIA-Funeral services for Julia Henderson, 85, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Reverend Terry Cagle will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Benton, Joshua Benton, Walter Reed, Gary Ginn and Chuck Bland. Mrs. Henderson passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care in Lexington. She was born on September 1, 1928 in Hopkins, SC to Hampton and Julia Turner Drawdy. She retired from Zip Kleen Dry Cleaners after 50 years of service and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Stamos,; sister, Mildred D. Ginn of Columbia; grandchildren, Peter A. Stamos of Charlotte, NC, Billy A. Stamos (Jennifer) of Charlotte, NC, James A. Stamos of Hopkins and Jennifer Benton of Columbia; two very special great-grandchildren, James Benton and Joshua Benton both of Hopkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Henderson, son, Lindsay Henderson, daughter, Christine Wilson, sisters, Marie Brazell, Evelyn Drawdy and brothers, Harold Drawdy, Wade Drawdy and Roy Drawdy. The family would like to thank the staff at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care for all their support.
