Obituary of Dorothy Jean Butler
Dorothy Jean Butler, 71, of Lexington entered into rest Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Agape Hospice House. Born Tuesday, July, 14, 1942 in Murphy, NC, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Roy and Ruby Lorean (Cary) Randolph. She was a Baptist in faith and had retired from Ceridian (Benefits Administration, Charlotte, NC) as a District Information Services Manager. Mrs. Butler had attended Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, where she studied business. She adored music, played both the piano and the organ, and particularly enjoyed attending Gospel Singings.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, Donald Jerome Butler, Sr.; stepchildren, Donald J. Butler, Jr. (Lindsay) and Jeffrey L. Butler (Pam); step-grandson, Keegan Butler; sister, Rev. Roye Lynn Kulik (George); nephew, Victor Kulik; grandnieces, Miranda and Lauren Kulik; grandnephew, Alex Kulik; aunt, Mrs. Opal Garrett; as well as, Jean and Donald's four legged child, Buddy.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 9801 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC 28227, with Reverend Andy Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073.
