Obituary of Theda Sublett Durden

Theda Sublett Durden, 74, of Columbia, passed away, July 27, 2014 in her home after a brief illness. Born November 17, 1939 in Dallas, TX she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Kate Sublett. Mrs. Durden's children were the highlight of her life. She dedicated her life to the physical and emotional well-being of not only others as an LPN, but her family as well. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Mrs. Durden is survived by five children, Kathy (Dennis) Barnes, Jeff (Sarah), Kevin, Kenneth (Alexandria) and Karl Brian Durden; sister, Phyllis Sublett; brother, Tommy Sublett; and two grandchildren, Kendal Barnes and James "Jeff" Durden. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. The family would like to extend a special thank you to, Martha Ellen Steele, for the devoted care and friendship she shared with their mother during her final few days.
