Obituary of Odell Jeffords

Services for Odell Jeffords, 71, of Lexington, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Round Hill Baptist Church in Lexington, conducted by Pastor Don Turner. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road in West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Roy Corley, Kenny Steele, Don Kaminer, Colbi Butler, Robert Askins and Jerry Meetze. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road in Lexington is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Round Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 230 Persimmon Lane, Lexington, SC 29072. Mr. Jeffords died Monday, July 28, 2014. Born September 12, 1942 in Darlington, SC, he was a son of the late Charlie Herman Jeffords and Elizabeth Self O'Neal. He was a member of Round Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Jeffords and Perry Painting. He enjoyed hunting, fishing but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Surviving are his son, William Jeffords (Amy); daughters, Pamela Jones (Ron), and Sandra Rose (David); five grandchildren, Chevez Rose, Ty Rose, Thomas Jones, Caleb Shull and Shelby Jeffords; brothers, Raymond O'Neal and David O'Neal; sisters, Libby Boone, Linda Meetze, Mary Benefield and Wilamae Jenkins. Mr. Jeffords was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Joyce Ann Jeffords, and his sister, Judy Porter.
