Obituary of Martha Hyler Baldwin

Funeral services for Martha Hyler Baldwin, 61, of Lexington, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice. Born in Lexington, SC, on June 24, 1953, Martha was a daughter of the late, James Curtis and Francis Padgett Hyler. Martha lost her battle with cancer on August 1, 2014, eighteen months after being diagnosed. Surviving are her loving husband of 39 years, Darrell "Dink" Baldwin of Lexington; daughter, Faith Elizabeth Baldwin of Lexington; son, Brian Lee Baldwin of Lexington; sister, Jeanette (Jim) Armstrong of Chapin; brother, Mike (Gale) Hyler of Gilbert and honorary family member, Sandy Gates-Smith of Lexington. Martha was predeceased by her brother, James Hyler and sister, Jenny Berta. The family wishes to thank Dr. Asheesh Lal, Paige Price and Tiffany Tucker of Lexington Oncology for their special care.
