Obituary of Sallie Powell Kearney

Sallie Powell Kearney, 95, of Columbia, entered into rest, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center. Born January 29, 1919 in Wake Forest, NC she was a daughter of the late William and Sallie (Woodlief) Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnice Woodrow Kearney; son, Robert Woodrow Kearney; as well as a brother and a sister. Mrs. Kearney is survived by her son, John W. Kearney and his wife Karri; daughter-in-law, Helen Tilton Kearney; grandchildren, Wayne, Susan, Sandra, Johnathan, Sara, Rob and Sissy; as well as eight great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will be receiving friends for one hour prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
