Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Bachman Wilson

Dorothy Elizabeth Bachman Wilson Gaston - Funeral service for Dorothy Elizabeth Bachman Wilson, 84, of Gaston, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Gaston. Dr. Larry Harrison and Reverend Bill Pauling will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Pound, Adam Callahan, Duane Johnson, Dwain Smith, Ted Boldt, Allen Ott and Terry Pound. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Brown and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Mrs. Wilson passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born in Columbia, SC on September 20, 1929 to the late Calvin Augustus Bachman and Allie Rivers Bachman. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Wilson. She retired as a nurse from Lexington County Public Health Department. Mrs. Wilson was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Gaston and she loved her flowers. Surviving are her sons, Calvin R. Wilson (Susan) of Franklinton, NC, Bill Wilson (Trudy) of Martinez, GA and Reverend Buster Wilson (Elaine) of Gaston; a daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Spires (Mike) of Gaston and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by a son, Thomas Harland Wilson and a sister, Billie B. Balukin.
