Obituary of Margaret Bryant Pratt

West Columbia - Margaret B. Pratt, 79, of West Columbia, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was born September 5, 1934 in Pelzer, SC. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Ollie Blackston of Anderson and Greenville counties. Margaret graduated from Welcome High school in Greenville in 1952. She graduated from Greenville Memorial Hospital Nursing Program in 1962 as a certified operating room technologist and retired in 1991 from Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her son, Tony, who went to be with the Lord in 2010, brothers, Edward and Edgar, sisters, Sarah Thomas and Evelyn Skelton. She is survived by her love, Jesse "Jack" Pratt, whom she wed in February of 1956, and by one son, Jon Pratt and wife, Barbara, of E. Boothbay Harbor, Maine, one grandson, Alex Pratt and wife, Kelly, and many relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
