Jon will be greatly missed at BC. As a teacher, I enjoyed discussing student schedules and serving on committees with him. He was always positive and professional. I remember working with him his first year as guidance counselor and was amazed at his professionalism and objectivity in dealing with teachers, parents, and students, especially for a first-year counselor. Our hearts are broken at his passing. Be assured he will live in our hearts and memories. When I think of BC guidance, I will always remember our Mr. Taylor and the joy he brought to our school.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of you son. May you find strength and comfort in the promises at Revelation 21:4 that reads; "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away."

Saddens me to see this. What a wonderful young man he was & great mentor to young people!! He was my sons counselor at BC, but did his internship/fellowship at George I Pair, where my son went as well. He was able to watch most of his kids from there, grow up & be influential in their lives. He touched many lives!!! May he rest in peace!! Praying for the family!!

There are too many memories to share about Jon. High school was such a joy for me because of Jon and Toby. Whether it was going to church youth group on Wednesdays, or after school drama practice, or just hanging out Jon was sure to make us laugh especially when he was arguing with Toby. Jon has and will always hold a special place in my heart and I will miss him dearly. His light will continue to shine on us all. xoxo

I had the distinct honor to appear with Jon in Town Theatre's production of "No Time for Sergeants". This was my first show and Jon made me feel welcomed and a part of the "family". He will be sorely missed by all of us in the theatre community. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn his passing.

Finding the community theater family in Columbia was something for which I will always be grateful. When the rest of the world seemed harsh and cruel, I would come to rehearsal and everything fell into place. Jon was a little older, a little wiser and in many ways, I idolized him. My confidence grew and I started to become who I am today when he invited me to hang out with him after Wizard of Oz rehearsal one hot summer night. That is what I will always remember about Jon: his warm and open nature. He reached out to everyone around him, made everyone feel special and cared for. He touched so many lives when he took the stage and so many more just being who he was. He was an example of how to love in an often dreary world, to find the good in every situation, and to bring laughter and light in the face of adversity. I will miss him dearly.

Family is so much more than the people who share your blood. Jon, I can still remember what your hugs feel like because you were so free with them. I can still see your smile, hear your laugh, because to be near you was to be surrounded by your infectious joy. I don't understand why God calls some of us home sooner, but I do know that you loved so good while you were here that you probably met your quota early.
I miss you. I miss my theater family. You shaped me through love, friendship, guidance, laughter, song, dance, and memories. You are a part of the fabric that is me. You always will be. And you'll always be missed. So sad I can't be there to celebrate your life with the rest of our blessedly large and bizarre Columbia theatre family.
"Lord, grant that I might not so much seek to be loved as to love." <--- you mastered this. So I promise I'll work on it in your honor.

Jon Taylor made me laugh so fully I would often joyfully cry nd heartily snort. I am so very glad to have known him and created theatre with him. Those weeks, hours and minutes were more than just about making entertainment for others--they were also about building a family of friends. I send my deepest sympathy and love to the Taylor family as well as Jon's wide family of friends.

The summer of 1990 (when I met Jon) sparked years of wonderful friendship, adventure, and laughter. Jon was always able to laugh at himself, display sensitive compassion toward others, and engage in honorable competitiveness. His friendship was a powerful, integral and formative element for my life during grades 7-12. He will be deeply, inexplicably missed.

It was my third play at Workshop, Leader of the Pack, and Jon was apart of the cast. I was only 12 at the time, but every time I passed him and talked to him and he made me laugh and honestly made it one of the best experiences of my life. He was so supportive and caring and I'm sad to see that he is no longer with us. I send my prayers and condolences to the family.

Jon was one of the first people to offer their friendship to me when I got into Columbia's theatre scene, and we became very fast friends after that experience. I'm saddened that, as is so often the case, I'd not seen him in several months, but at the same time I'm uplifted remembering the times I did get to hear his distinctive laugh, hear him deliver an on-point quip and get a fantastic hug. "Too soon" is an understatement, and a harsh reminder to appreciate each moment. May the memories of his joyous spirit, his awesome talent and generous heart bring comfort to his family and friends. Never to be forgotten.
