Obituary of Margaret Lois Faulkner Elkins

A funeral service celebrating the life of Margaret Lois Faulkner Elkins, 85, of Columbia will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1005 Asbury Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in Margaret's memory. Ms. Elkins departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She was born in Clover, SC to E.B. Faulkner and Mary Etta Stowe Faulkner. Ms. Elkins was a faithful member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the choir. She retired from the South Carolina State Hospital after 36 years of dedicated service in nursing. Ms. Elkins was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lex Edward Elkins, Sr.; her son, Lex Edward Elkins, Jr.; and her brothers, Jack Faulkner and Edward Faulkner. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her children, Debra Elkins (Chris) McIntyre and Thomas (Pamela) Elkins; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Elkins; a brother, Harry Faulkner; four grandsons, Edward Elkins, Hunter Elkins, Cody McIlroy, and Lex Elkins, III; a granddaughter, Gabrielle Stalnaker; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
