Obituary of Teresa Fay Edwards Taylor

Lexington - Today our sweet Teresa dances and sings with the angels. She lived her life much loved, suffered with dignity, and left behind a myriad of life lessons. Teresa was born on August 12, 1975 and lived her entire life in Lexington County. She was educated in Lexington County District One public schools and at Midlands Technical College. She worked for Jim Sketo and Rick Hall in Lexington as a legal assistant her entire adult work career. Teresa married her childhood sweetheart Bradley Taylor in 1998 and in 2004 Preston Henry Taylor came into their family. It was for "her two boys" that Teresa struggled and fought so hard to stay here. Not knowing everything about our heavenly home except that it will be magnificent, we speculate that, insofar as the Heavenly Father allows, she still watches over them. Teresa also steadfastly loved, and was steadfastly loved by, her Daddy and Ma, Terry and Cornelia Ruth Edwards of Lexington, her sister Melinda Edwards of Columbia, her Aunt Fay (Uncle Chalmers) Hancock of Saluda, and all of her Power and Edwards uncles, aunts, and cousins as well as her parents-in-law Drayton and Nella Taylor of Lexington, brothers-in-law Martin Taylor and Kevin Taylor (Selena) and her niece Sederis. She is welcomed into eternal rest by her grandparents Henry and Margaret Power and Joe and Clara Edwards along with other special family members and, we suspect, a Chihuahua named Zack. For the gift of organ donation we can never pray enough thanks. The transplanted heart that extended and enriched Teresa's life for fourteen years was a gift beyond expression. To the staff at MUSC who infused hope into their every effort and to the Radiology staff at Lexington Medical Center who made her last days more comfortable with the weekly procedures done there, we appreciate you from the deepest parts of our souls. When Teresa was five years old, she came to faith and never wavered from it. Her earthly church membership was at Oakwood Baptist Church. As she enters that eternal palace, we feel that she will be able to say to the Great Comforter, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4: 7 Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. September 5, 2014 at Oakwood Baptist Church, 3520 Mineral Springs Road, Lexington, with visitation following at the church. Burial will ensue in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Preston Taylor Scholarship Fund at First Community Bank, 5455 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC 29072.
