Obituary of Samuel Lee Burt

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Samuel Lee Burt, 83, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 12, 2014 at the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Burial will follow in Olympia Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Born in Columbia, Mr. Burt was the son of the late Clyde Melton Burt. Sam was a loving and kind man who will be dearly missed. He retired from Olympia Mills after many years of dedicated service. Sam was a member of Park Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Wilhelmenia Bell Kennedy Burt, six step-children; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Lucille Moore. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
