Obituary of Miriam Small Wright

Eastover, SC-Miriam Small Wright, 82, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 after an extended illness. She was born in Mullins, SC on October 18, 1931 to the late Teasley and Golie Small. She worked for Southern Bell and retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was a shining example of God's grace through her courage and steadfast faith. Everyone she encountered was touched by her grace, love and genuine kind heart. She always met you with a smile and left you feeling better in every way. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Archie Kenneth "Ken" Wright; 3 children, son, Glen Wright (Terri), daughters, Marsha Wright Silver (Neil) and Cheryl Wright Matheny (Mike). She was also blessed with 8 grandchildren; Travis Wright, Austin Silver, Chandler Wright, Taylor Page, Shannon Silver, Meredith Wright, Alexandria Matheny Allen (Jeremy) Christian Matheny and one brother, Lephon Small (Carolyn). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Beulah Baptist Church, 9487 Garners Ferry Road, Hopkins, SC. 29061. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 p.m. with services to begin at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
