Obituary of Charlie Eskew Chewning

Columbia, SC - A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Charlie Eskew Chewning, 92, of Orangeburg will be held at 12:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A private entombment will be held at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Chewning departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the morning hours. She was born in Piedmont, SC to the late Charlie Donald Eskew and Ellen Payne Eskew as the youngest of six girls. Ms. Chewning was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was retired from Sears after working there for thirty years. Mrs. Chewning was predeceased by her husband, Medici E. Chewning, Sr. Those left to cherish her precious memories are her son, Ed (Win Anne) Chewning; Five grandchildren, Kristen (Brandon) Litchfield, Charles (Elizabeth) Hipp, Jennifer Chewning, Jonathan (Cory) Chewning, and Mary Win (Cory) King; and eight great-grandchildren.
