Obituary of Michelle Lee Williams Coates

West Columbia-Funeral Services for Mrs. Michelle Coates will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Chapel at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington with burial to following in Woodridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 at the funeral home. Mrs. Michelle Coates, wife of David Coates, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014. She was born in Richland County on March 6, 1972 to George and Jean Altman Gainey. She previously worked for GIS in Chapin as a data entry representative and she was a founder of Southern Connection Tours where she worked for 12 years. She was a volunteer at Pets Inc. in West Columbia and she was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmother, Ramona Scott; two uncles, JD and Danny Altman; and her loving pets, Baby Girl and Murray and half-brother, Petey Gainey. She was predeceased by two aunts, Doris Sawyer and Vera Dean Hanna. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pets Inc., PO Box 6394, West Columbia, SC 29171.
