Obituary of Bruce F. Whetstone

Cayce- Funeral Services for Bruce F. "Trey" Whetstone, III, 48, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Gantt Street Baptist Church, 2121 Gantt Street, Cayce, SC with burial to follow. Reverend Gene Rowell will officiate. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Bruce passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014. He was born in Columbia, SC to Bruce F. Whetstone Jr. and Sandra Smith Whetstone. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend of strong Christian faith who always placed others ahead of himself. He honorably served his country in the US Army. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Whetstone; son, Alex Whetstone; sister, Vicki W. Logan; girlfriend, Frances Strayer, and a large and loving extended family. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bruce and Lillian Whetstone and maternal grandparents, Foy and Evelyn Smith.
