Obituary of Carolyn Carraway Turner

Columbia, SC - A graveside service celebrating the life Carolyn Carraway Turner, 76, of Columbia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Ms. Turner departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She was born in Scranton, SC to Luther Carraway and Emily Turner Carraway. Ms. Turner was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alton T. Turner; and a sister, Agnes Carraway. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her daughters, Melinda Meir (John Meir, II) and Melissa Roof (Martin L. Roof, Jr.); three grandchildren, Ashley Roof, Marty Roof, and Michael Meir; three sisters, Margaret Lynch, Lennie Smith (Donald), and Keaner "Kay" Brown (Richard); two brothers, Bryant "Dexter" Carraway (Valerie) and Larry A. Carraway (Faye); a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
