Obituary of Myrtle D. Siple

COLUMBIA-Myrtle Deas Siple, 95, of Columbia, entered into rest, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist. Born May 11, 1919 in Sumter County, SC she was a daughter of the late William Blanding and Effie Irene (Troublefield) Deas. A former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Columbia; Mrs. Siple was an avid reader, crossword aficionado and Bridge player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George E. Siple, with whom she shared a union of more than 39 years; a daughter, Cynthia Maureen Siple; as well as a sister. Mrs. Siple is survived by her daughters, Nancy Gartenman (Richard) and Kathleen S. Joye; sons, Jeffrey Adams (Joann) and George B. Siple (Jill); nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Interment will immediately follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
