Obituary of Mary Mandanis

A funeral service for Mary Mandanis, 80, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Main Street Sanctuary of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1901 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201, with Rev. Fr. Michael A. Platanis officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., with the Trisagion Prayer commencing at 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, September 23, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Mrs. Mandanis was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Saint Katherine's Philoptochos Society. Born in Columbia, SC Mrs. Mandanis was the daughter of the late William and Fotika (Mavroftis) Nickas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Nicholas Peter Mandanis. Survivors include her son, Perry Mandanis and daughter, Heather Mandanis.
