Obituary of Mavis Dora Shumpert

Pelion - Funeral services for Mavis Dora Shumpert, 80, of Pelion, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Shumpert died on Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was born in Lexington on July 7, 1934 to the late Leila Mae Lawson and Otis Marion Lucas. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Fraiser Shumpert. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mack (Wayne); son, Jimmy Shumpert; grandchildren, Jody Mack, Missy Rogers, Justin Shumpert and Rayma Shumpert; great-grandchildren, Hope and Briana Rogers.
