Obituary of Patricia Ann Courtney

West Columbia - Funeral services for Patricia "Patti" Ann Courtney, 52, of West Columbia, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Chapel at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow in the Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery located in Kingstree, South Carolina. Pastor Tommy Reeves of West Columbia and Eric Tisdale of Lugoff will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Patti passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014. She was born on June 20, 1962 in Yokosuka, Japan to the late Robert E. Courtney and Rebecca "Faye" Bingham Courtney. Patti was a graduate of Airport High School and was employed by Stanley Steamers of Columbia. She loved water skiing, softball and spending time with family and friends. Patti is survived by her daughter, Lyndsay N. Stanton of West Columbia; grandchild, Justin Kaleb Kirby of West Columbia; siblings, David G. Courtney (Debbie) of Lugoff, Robin C. Hickman (Todd) of Turbeville and Kelly C. Tapp of Charleston; nieces and nephews, Leslie Courtney, Tara Courtney, Ella Pate, Lauren Tapp, Sara Grace Hickman, Lori Corbin Roberts, Michael Corbin, Brian Corbin and Randy Corbin. The family wishes to extend thanks to a special aunt, Virgel M. McDaniel of Kingstree, for showing Patti much love and care. They would also like to thank the staff of Lexington Medical Center 7th and 4th floor nurses for their excellent care.
