Obituary of Joanne Kathryn Platzer

A memorial service for Joanne Kathryn Platzer, 83, of Lexington will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mrs. Platzer passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. She was born in Canton, Ohio on November 11, 1930 to the late Dorothy Lippert Tritch and Lester Tritch. Joanne served on many business executive boards in Ohio and served as President of the Akron-Canton Credit Association. She served as liaison to Lexington Town Council where she received a certificate of appreciation from the Lexington mayor and the town council. She was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Anthony Platzer. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Durstine (J. Larry) and Brenda Platzer; sister, Diane Deibel; brother, Richard Tritch (Barb); grandchildren, Jason Durstine (Joanne) and Michael Durstine (Anna); and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jenna Gayle and Miller Durstine.
