Obituary of Margaret Steele Hinson Grice

Mrs. Margaret Steele Hinson Grice Columbia, SC A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Margaret Steele Hinson Grice, 87, of Columbia will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with Pastor David Spears officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eason Memorial Baptist Church, 201 Vanbolken Street, Eastover, SC 29044 or the American Cancer Society in Margaret's memory. Mrs. Grice affectionately known as "Teele" by her family and friends departed this earthly life to be with her Lord on Monday, October 6, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Eastover, SC to Lewis Dolphus Hinson and Jessie Wilson Hinson. Margaret was a 1945 graduate of Lower Richland High School. She retired from Fort Jackson Army Base as a Commissary Supervisor after 30 years of dedicated service. Margaret was a member of Eason Memorial Baptist Church in Eastover, SC where she was a member of the Ladies Sunshine Class and the Treasurer of the Penny Storey Recreational Fund. Margaret enjoyed the beach as well as a love for gardening, watching the Gamecocks football, and most of all, spending time with her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leroy Grice; a son, Roy Stanley Grice; a sister, Sue Campbell; and a brother, Lewis D. "L.D." Hinson, Jr. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty Grice (Debbie); a daughter-in-law, Pat Branham Grice; grandchildren, Brian Grice and Regina Grice; a great-grandchild, Davey Grice; a great, great-grandchild, Tanner Grice; her sisters, Inez Hinson and Cynthia Frost (Bill); her brothers, Douglas R. Hinson (Barbara) and Robert L. Hinson (Linda); a sister-in-law, Lou Lindler Hinson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
