Barbara Jeanne Houska West Columbia - A memorial service celebrating the life of Barbara Jeanne Houska, 66, of West Columbia will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. Interment will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mr. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Road, West Columbia SC 29169. On-line condolences may be sent to www.Thompsonsfuneral.com Mrs. Houska passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was born on January 11, 1948 in Medina, Ohio to the late Robert and Edith Searles. She graduated from Medina High School. She was the wife of Ronald T. Houska. She was employed by Medina General Hospital for 19 years and Lexington Medical Center for 6 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jonathan (Sibel) Lacquement and Jacob (Jana) Lacquement; step-children, Michael (Brenda) Houska, Ronda (Dominic) Giardini, Robert (Netta) Houska and Timothy Houska;15 grandchildren; sisters, Mary (James) Stefan, Katherine (John) Lowther; and brother-in-law, Edward Gates. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Anne Gates.
