Obituary of Kay Hutto Montgomery

WEST COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Kay Hutto Montgomery will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 1112 Hummingbird Lane, West Columbia, SC 29169. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Burial will be private. Kay was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina; the daughter of the late J.J. "Jake" and Ruth Bolen Hutto. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, and was a retired System Analyst. She was also the author of several children's books. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 42 years, Ralph Alvin "Al" Montgomery. She is also survived by her friend (a hero from one of her children's books) "Stuffy Stuff", and 4-legged friends Daisy and Choo-Choo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church. Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
