Obituary of Sheila Lewis Davenport

Columbia, SC - A Celebration of Life Service for Sheila Monique Lewis Davenport, 46, of Columbia will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, 2440 Atlas Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with entombment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in Sheila's memory. Sheila affectionately known as "Lady DeeVah" departed this earthly life to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014. She was born on September 2, 1968 in Columbia, SC to Mrs. Gloria Elizabeth Inabinet and a wonderful stepfather, Johnnie Lee Inabinet. A 1986 graduate of Dreher High School, Sheila became a licensed cosmetologist graduating from Chris Logan. She was employed with Richland School District One Transportation Department and Bible Way Community Development Center for many years where she was known for her bubbly personality and gorgeous smile. On April 20, 1991 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Orlando Davenport and together they created a beautiful baby girl, Robyn Shabazz Davenport. These three, truly inseparable! "Lady DeeVah" was the Treasurer and one of the founding members of the Dirty South Ryders Motorcycle Club of SC for the past 13 years. Sheila was predeceased by her stepfather, Johnnie Lee Inabinet and a grandmother, Lila Corbitt Washington. Those left to cherish her beautiful and precious memories are her husband, Robert O. Davenport and a beautiful daughter, Robyn Shabazz Davenport both of the home; her mother, Gloria Inabinet of Columbia, SC; her father-in-law, Arnold (Sheila) Milburn of Atlanta, GA; her grandmother, Elizabeth Props of Columbia, SC; her brothers, Conrad (Paula) Lewis of Columbia, SC, Thernell (Shawn) Lewis of Irmo, SC, and Andrey (Keysha) Inabinet of Columbia, SC; two uncles, William and Ralph Washington; two aunts, Carolyn and Thelma Washington; a great aunt, Clara Jordan; a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, the motorcycle community, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Special appreciation is extended to everyone who has been supportive during Sheila's illness and also during her transition of life. Special thanks to William and Charlotte Mack, Toni Faulkner, and Brenda Kelly for their personal care and compassion for Sheila and the Davenport and Inabinet families during this difficult time. The family has entrusted Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the final arrangements.
