Obituary of Myrtle Shuler Barfield

A funeral service for Myrtle Shuler Barfield, 85, of West Columbia will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at The Central Church of the Nazarene, 100 S. Woodside Pkwy, West Columbia, SC 29170. Pastor James Thrower will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Barfield passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014. She was born in Columbia to the late Fred and Eunice Shuler. She was a member of The Central Church of the Nazarene. Myrtle was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who enjoyed caring for her family, and who loved the Lord. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Gayle Barfield of Columbia; son, Marshall Gadsden Barfield, Jr. of West Columbia; grandchildren; Marshall Gadsden Barfield III, Ashley Marie Becker and Ashley Elizabeth Ebert; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Marshall Gadsden Barfield, Sr. Memorials may be made to The Central Church of the Nazarene or to The Babcock Center, P.O.
