Jim, the time we knew you was all too short, but was filled with happy memories; our children's wedding, trips to Edisto Beach and the ocean; fun in Charleston; having you and Susan as guests in our home here in Nebraska; visiting in Abilene with our children and granddaughter! We will miss you so much, but will cherish fond memories forever.
With love and remembrance, Carol and Dick Eckles

I am sorry to hear of your loss. The death of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a human can face. At times, the loss can seem unbearable. The Bible teaches; "God is near to the brokenhearted." It also says; "Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you." (Psalm 34:18 and 55:22) I hope this message will help you cope with the loss of your loved one.

Jim and I worked at Intel together. He was a member of my golf team this past season and I had the privilege of playing in the same foursome two times. We experienced some great golf holes together and some that both of us would rather not talk about. :) I was deeply saddened to hear about Jim's illness. My sincerest condolences go out to Jim's wife and family. He will be greatly missed.

What a privilege to work with Jim at Intel before we both went on sabbatical. Sharing the joys and stories of our lives with respect to children, and his grandchildren, was a delight. His face would shine when talking about special moments with them. May God comfort and bless his family.

I first met Jim, and Kathy, Herb and Lil at his grandmothers in Deltona, when I was still an outsider to the family. We all enjoyed New Years with a foot ball game, and lots of goodies, thanks to his wonderful Mom, Lil and his Grandma. As time went on, and I became a part of the Merrill family, Jim was always the most considerate, caring person and went out of his way to make me feel that I was welcome. As the years went by, we all shared so many memorious times, that it is hard to pick just one to say was the best . I would have to pick the time we celebrated Grandma Merrill's birthday, and Dick set up the camera to record some of it, Grandma Merrill sat primarily with Jim and Kathy and just remembered times past and shared them with all of us. Of course, Susan, I also remember the water worm and how we embarrassed Jim! Jim is now enjoying a chat with his Mom, his Uncle Dick and his Uncle Bob. I know he would be telling us to remember the good times and memories.....he had a wonderful life with his beautiful wife Susan and his children Lori and Jamie, and then the additions tht his children brought him. It has been a blessing to know and love him.
I love you,Jim..............................Aunt Marian
