Obituary of Bonnie Sweat Becnel

Bonnie Jeanette (Sweat) Becnel, 34 of Augusta GA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 17, 2014. Mrs. Becnel was born on April 8, 1980 to Lewis Wayman Sweat and Violet Elizabeth (Carter) Sweat. Bonnie was a devoted and forgiving wife, nurturing mother, loving daughter, and endearing friend. Bonnie enjoyed the simple things in life, eating ice cream sundaes, iced snowballs and collecting snowmen. She enjoyed her time at the beach and decorating for the holidays with her family. She loved to shop for new clothes. A talented writer, she was constantly improving her mind through education and games like Mental Floss and Brain Games. Bonnie loved all animals, especially her dog Jack, and her three cats Millie, Bubbles and Oopsie-Davey. Her heart and soul, however, were her children. Mrs. Becnel is survived by her husband; James Morgan Becnel of Augusta GA, a son; Andrew Morgan Becnel of Augusta GA, and a daughter; Josephine Elisabeth (Lisette) Becnel also of Augusta GA. She is also survived by her parents; Wayman and Betsy Sweat of Lexington SC. She leaves behind lots of cousins and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was predeceased by her Meema (Vi Evans) and Deeda (Marshall Evans). Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 27922 Lowcounty Hwy, Smoaks, SC 29481 on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11 AM with the Reverend Kevin Stroop officiating. A visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street West Columbia, SC 29169 on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
