Thanks Royce. Today, 12/11/2014, is the first day I've been ready to look back at the kind words others have written. He was my best friend and even my best man when I married my sweet Ann. God did so much when He saved our entire family. Dad is so much more than just my father to me and I'm looking forward to seeing him more well than he ever was here in this life! Praise for our family, especially mom. May the LORD richly bless you and al of your family <>< Reese

A tribute to my uncle Buddy:
My uncle Buddy will be greatly missed by this adoring nephew and many others. While I now, myself, have adult children with families of their own, only now do I realize how important the patriarchal legacy of a man like Buddy Byrd is. He inspires me and should be an example for all men. I remember him not only as a loving and caring father and husband over the many decades I have known him, but also as a true servant - to his family, church, community and nation. I have embraced him as an uncle, Christian brother and fellow Air Force Airman. I have also known the sacrifices uncle Buddy made as a civil 'servant'. If life is a scale, and we are tested by the amount we give compared to the amount we take, uncle Buddy's giving cup runneth over...
I was also always impressed with uncle Buddy's wisdom and practical knowledge (of so many subjects). He was a man who would study things, understand things, give things, fix things, make things, and re-invent things. But, more importantly, he always elevated his Christian example in all that he did. Uncle Buddy was a practical, hard-working man who has now been delivered into an eternal place of rest. While he and his family were tested in the latter years because of the ailments of this earthly body and the trials of life that the good Lord sometimes places before us, for me, his legacy is one that I just described. I will always choose to remember him before his body failed him. While we grieve OUR loss, Buddy is now smiling into eternity as he has heard the words we all hope for one day: "Well done thy good and faithful servant"
In memory...

Uncle Buddy was always there ! What stick out in my mind was when they were over seas and my brother in law died .They were both in different branches of the service but yet Uncle Buddy ask if he could escort the body of my brother in law home .He did so and our family will never forget that. I also remember my sister spending time with them in NY. Buddy Byrd was truly a Family man one who cared about YOUR Soul , soft voice Yes if you never knew Him you missed out he was ONE OF A KIND. He will be missed until we meet again My Sweet Uncle. Love Your Oldest Niece Mary Linda Fay

To My Byrd Family:
So sorry to hear of Uncle Buddy's passing, but we can all take great comfort in knowing he is at rest with our Lord.
Am so happy we got the opportunity of being with you all recently, of getting to see him and being with many of our family.
Please know, although we'll not be able to be there with you at this time, our thoughts and prayers for God's "perfect peace" shall bring comfort to you all during this time and the days ahead...
Loved Uncle Buddy very much, and love you all too! Ok? :-) OK!!!
