Obituary of Bessie Howard Martin Ellisor

Columbia - A memorial service for Mrs. Bessie Howard Martin Ellisor, 86, of Columbia will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Pacific #325 AFM Masonic Lodge, 719 Maryland St., Columbia, SC 29201. Reverend Dr. Henry Mobley will officiate. Following the service, the family and friends will gather in the Dining Hall for a Luncheon. Interment will be private. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073, is assisting the family. Mrs. Ellisor, the widow of Daniel C. Ellisor, died October 24, 2014 at Pruitt Healthcare of Ridgeway. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Wilburn Mitchell and Myrtis McGradey Howard. She was a lifetime resident of Columbia, and was a member of Virginia Street Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Ellisor was predeceased by a brother, a sister, and a son, John Earl Martin. She is survived by a brother, Jack Howard. She is also survived by seven children; sons, William Ray Martin of Gaston, Thomas Martin of Myrtle Beach, Paul Martin of Gaston, Michael Martin of Lexington; daughters, Elizabeth E. Crim of Swansea, Ada Evelyn Bell of Swansea, and Carol Cole of West Columbia. Mrs. Ellisor is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
