Obituary of Katharine Hydrick Wilson

Cayce - Katharine Hydrick Wilson, 105, of Cayce, entered into rest, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center. Born August 30, 1909 in Sumter, SC she was a daughter of the late Henry M. and Mannye (Dinkins) Hydrick. A member of West Side Baptist Church for many years, Mrs. Wilson had been employed with George I. Pair Elementary School, where she retired after 30 years of service. She graduated from North High School in North, S.C. and attended Chicora College and Draughon's Business College in Columbia, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Willard Wilson, Sr., with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 57 years. She is survived by her son, N. Willard Wilson, Jr. ( Margaret); grandsons, Charles "Chuck" Wilson and Eric B. Wilson (Richelle); great grandsons, Jack and Sammy; and brothers, Augustus "Gus" and Frank Hydrick. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at West Side Baptist Church, 2100 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169, with Pastor Clint Lawyer and Rev. Dr. Pete Cassidy officiating. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.
