Obituary of John Gentry

John Richard Gentry, 51, of West Columbia, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014. Born in Richland County, he was a son of Patricia Murphy Gentry and the late Robert C. Gentry Sr. John worked in retail and was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Columbia SC. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Velda G. Coker; two brothers, Robert C Gentry Jr. (Sandra) and Mark Gentry; and special uncle, Lawrence Murphy. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence of Frances Davis.
