Obituary of William Trifos

A Funeral Mass will be held for Mr. William Trifos, 79, of West Columbia at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1931 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Father Michael Platanis will officiate. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Trisagion Prayers will be recited at 6:00 PM, after which the family will greet friends until 8:00 PM Friday, November 14 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Mr. Trifos was born January 17, 1935 and passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was the son of Telemahos and Helen Trifos. His passion and love for his family was undeniable, and he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He was the patriarch of Main Street Café in Lexington, SC, as food was his passion. He is survived by his sons, Mike Trifos (Cris) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, George Trifos (Monique) of West Columbia; daughter Nitsa Trifos Isola (Matthew) of West Columbia; 5 grandchildren, Vasili, Mihali, Katie, Vasili and Jaiden. He is also survived by two brothers; Angelo Trifos (Georgia) of Columbia, and Takis Trifos (Francois) of Corfu, Greece; sister-in-law, Stella Trifos of Corfu, Greece, and a large and loving extended family.
