Obituary of Siegerlinda Aldegunde Wies Hinkle

Siegerlinda Aldegunde Wies Hinkle Siegerlinda Hinkle, 78, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Providence Hospital. Ms. Hinkle was born on June 6, 1936 in Morsbach, Germany to the late Alfred Weis and Elsa (Streng) Weis. One of 13 children, Linda grew up in Germany during WWII and was always surrounded by her loving brothers and sisters. She married and moved to America in 1967. Linda was a generous and kind soul. She enjoyed cooking and always made sure everyone that came to her house was fed. Ms. Hinkle was a great baker, making pies and cakes at every birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas for the family. She enjoyed all dancing, especially the polka. She had a great love for children and would not hesitate to take them into her home whenever asked. Linda was very proud of earning her high school diploma in the United States. Of all the things she loved, it was her family she loved and cherished the most. Ms. Hinkle is survived by her sons; Stephen Lee Hinkle Sr. (Kimberley) of Columbia SC, and Michael Clyde Hinkle of Columbia, SC, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Linda is also survived by her sisters; Sofie, Klare, Theresia and Kuni all of Germany. She was predeceased by her sisters; Anna, Otilie, Heidi, Rosl, and Aldegunde, and brothers; Fritz, Fredrick and Lawrence also of Germany. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, and will be announced. Thompson's Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC 29209 is in charge of the arrangements.
