Obituary of James Columbus Kirby

West Columbia - JC, 79, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2014. He was a loving husband, father and friend who will be missed by all. He was born in West Columbia, SC where he married and raised his children. He was a veteran and US Postal Service employee and retired after 33 years of service. He was predeceased by his father, James Columbus Kirby, Jr. and his mother, Vernie Norris Bolman. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis Kirby; children, Pamela Kirby Hollowell and husband, Frank Lee Hollowell, Jr, Todd Columbus Kirby and wife, Loralea Kirby and Kimberly Ann Anderson and partner, Nicholas Herndon Nowell; grandchildren, Kyle Hollowell, Zachary Kirby, Zechiel Kirby, and Zephan Kirby and his loving cousins, friends and anonymous friends. He was a proud member of Congaree Presbyterian Church, and served as Deacon and choir member for many years. He was proud to be a Carolina Gamecock fan. Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Congaree Presbyterian Church, 1221 Lafayette Ave., Cayce SC, 29033, on Thursday, November 20th, with Visitation from 11 AM until 12 Noon with Memorial Service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Congaree Presbyterian Church in memory of JC Kirby.
