Obituary of Mildred Brown Evans

Mildred B. Evans Columbia - Mildred Brown Evans, 87, of Columbia, entered into rest November 19, 2014 at The Waterford Assisted Living. Born August 25, 1927 in Colerain, NC she was a daughter of the late Craton and Letha (Baker) Brown. Mrs. Evans was an Administrator for 15 years with the Finance Department of the SC Dept. of Mental Retardation in Florence, SC, and was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, Columbia. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Joseph Evans, with whom she shared a union of more than 50 years. Mrs. Evans is survived by her daughter, Dianne E. (Tim) Ray; son, Stanley Joseph (Robin) Evans, Jr.; grandchildren, Christine Evans, Jennifer (Chris) Landreth, Joseph (Sarah) Ray, Stuart (Meghan) Ray; great grandchildren, Samantha, Katie, Luke and Ryan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Road, Elgin, SC 29045, with Joseph T. H. Ray officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to, Spring Valley Baptist Church, 91 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
