Obituary of Willie Lee Kemmerlin

Mr. Willie Lee Kemmerlin, 62, of Gaston, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday November 21, 2014. He had bravely confronted and fought the illness of end-stage renal disease for some time. Born in Holly Hill, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Furman and Doll Kemmerlin. He retired from Glassmaster Boats after 25 years of faithful service. Willie absolutely loved fishing, and was a "pro" at catching extremely large fish. As a young man, Mr. Kemmerlin graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1971. A much loved boyfriend, stepfather, grandfather, son and brother, he lived life very wisely with a great sense of humor. Willie was a man with a passion to help others, even if it meant him giving you the shirt off of his back. He dearly loved and cherished his girlfriend, Norma E. Russell, along with her children and grandchildren. They completed his family. He leaves behind to cherish his fond memories survived by his girlfriend, Norma E. Russell; step-daughter, Tina Russell; three step-sons, Ted, Donald and Douglas Russell; eight grandchildren, Brittany (Peter) Givens, Chad (Hannah), Tyson and Angel Russell, Cheyanne and Jacob Crim. He is also survived by a brother, Joe Kemmerlin. A memorial service for Willie Lee Kemmerlin will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:30 PM in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington at 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC, 29073. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
