Obituary of Stanley Joseph Law

Columbia-Stanley Joseph Law, 93, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away November 22, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. Stanley "Stan the Man" was born on February 6, 1921 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, to the late Wellington Law and Sada Belle (Wilmont) Law. He was a proud and highly decorated WWII veteran. Stanley had a wonderful sense of humor and was always smiling. His personality could fill a room. He loved people and was a shameless flirt. Stanley was a devoted father and grandfather. A lifelong salesman, he excelled in his profession and was loyal to those he worked with. A man of character, he instilled a good work ethic as well a sense of fun to his children. Stanley enjoyed working in his flower garden and yard. He also enjoyed golf and watching all sports, especially his two favorite teams, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Cleveland Browns. Stanley enjoyed being with his family for dinners, birthdays and holidays. His family and friends will miss his optimism and zest for life. Stanley is survived by his daughters; Deborah Morris (Powell) of Columbia SC, Molly Wilson of Columbia, SC, grandchildren; Matthew Horgan of Atlanta, GA, Lee Culbreth (Jamie) of Columbia SC, and Ryan Wilson of Columbia SC. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister; Alice Law Bican and a brother; Frances James Law. Memorial services will be at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC 29209 on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 12 PM with Rev. Daniel H. Hank, Ph.D., officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
