Obituary of 1st. Sgt. Stacy Ann Pollard-Bush

First Sergeant Stacy Ann Pollard-Bush, United States Army, (Ret), 43, of Columbia SC, departed this earthly life on November 24, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC. Born on April 16, 1971 in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of Mr. John B Pollard of Camden SC and Rebecca A. Jones of Philadelphia, PA. Stacy was ambitious and highly motivated in her personal and professional life. She had earned her Master's Degree in Human Resources, and was preparing for her dissertation for her Doctor of Philosophy degree. Stacy was a very proud and highly decorated veteran. She spent 23 years honorably serving her county in the United States Army Active and Reserves, achieving the rank of First Sergeant. Stacy was awarded numerous medals while serving in the military. She earned the Army Commendation Medal (fifth award), Army Achievement Medal (eighth award), Army Good Conduct Medal (third award), National Defense Service Medal (second award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (third award), and the Army Service Ribbon. Stacy was a Christian and remained true to her faith. She was a member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road in Columbia SC, Stacy used her God given voice talents so sing and praise Jesus. She walked with the Lord and was assured in her faith. She loved God, and loved her bible. Her witness will most certainly endure. Stacy was a well rounded woman. She was generous and helpful. Stacy was known as a great mom, and raised her child right. She was very happy and loved to laugh. She was an unselfish friend and could be counted on when she gave her word. Stacy enjoyed traveling, shopping, especially for shoes and pocketbooks. She listened to old school music and especially enjoyed gospel music. She loved spending time with her family and special friends. She was a fun-loving person whose smile opened the hearts of many. Stacy left a lasting impression on all who have had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. Stacy's beautiful memories will always remain in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her, especially her husband Kenneth E. Bush of Columbia, SC; her son Sean Jeremiah Bush of Columbia, SC; her step-daughter Kenshara Bush of Atlanta GA; her sister Theresa Bennett (Leo) of Philadelphia PA; two nieces, Janae Hayes and Jayelah Hayes, both of Philadelphia PA, and her parents; John B. Pollard of Camden SC and Rebecca A. Jones of Philadelphia PA. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and other sorrowing relatives and dear friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 from 6 PM until 8 PM in the Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, 2440 Atlas Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A private family interment service with full military honors will follow the service. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC 29209 is assisting the family.
