Obituary of Edward O'neil Stabler

Edward O'neil Stabler, 64, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away December 3, 2014 at his residence in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on April 19, 1950 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Barco Stabler and Catherine Stabler. Edward was a retired iron worker with many years of hard work behind him. O'neil enjoyed his motorcycles, and was very involved in the brotherhood of his motorcycle club. He was also an excellent woodcrafter. O'neil would build the most beautiful jewelry boxes and give them as gifts. He was a Christian man that loved the Lord. He was a good father and a wonderful husband. O'neil was also known to be very funny, and would embarrass his children with his antics, such as getting out the car and dancing at stoplights. O'neil most loved his family. Family dinners, and holidays were his chance to be surrounded by all those he loved, and all that loved him. His wry smile and infectious personality will not be forgotten. Mr. Stabler is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 25 years, Mary Jane Stabler, step-daughters; Melissa Jane Propps (Jon) of Conway, SC, Earlene Deneise McClousky of Columbia, SC, and Chrystal Dianne Brasington of Gaston, SC. O'neil is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Stabler and a sister, MaryAnn Stabler. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the family. Memorials may be made to the family to assist in the funeral expenses. Thompsons Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 is assisting the family.
