Obituary of Sara Wade Connelley

Mrs. Sara W. Connelley, 94, of Columbia, SC passed away on December 4, 2014. Mrs. Sara W. Connelley was born on October 18, 1920 in Lizella GA. She was a daughter of the late, Robert Wade and Ida Belle (Parker) Wade. Sara was a loving wife to her husband and a good mom to her children. She was highly organized and when they were younger, she was very involved with her children's school functions. Sara worked as an engineering assistant at Southern Bell Telephone Company before raising her family. After her children were grown, she returned to work at J B White. For 20 years, she enjoyed working in sales and had many customers that were loyal to her. Sara enjoyed a pretty yard and liked to work in hers. She loved to travel and spent time from cruising to Alaska or traveling from coast to coast in the car seeing the country Sara had a dry sense of humor. She was known to get tickled, and have fits of infectious laughter. Mrs. Connelley most loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with them in Beaufort SC at the beach house. She was loved, and will be missed. Sara is survived by her husband of 68 years; Claude W. Connelley, daughters; Suzanne Connelley of Columbia, SC, Belinda Mooneyhan of Columbia SC, grandchildren; Trey Mooneyhan of Columbia SC, Patrick Mooneyhan (Krystal) of Columbia SC, Owen Elliott of Columbia SC, Emily Elliott (Jason Scott) of Charleston SC, and a great grandchild, Elliott Scott of Charleston, SC. She is also survived my many nieces and nephews. Sara was predeceased by her sisters; Nell Wade, Emma Smith, Anne Robbins, Susie Wade and Minnie Adamson, and her brothers; Calvin Wade, Jeff Wade and Bud Wade. Funeral services for Sara W. Connelley will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 N. Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206. Pastor Joe Copeland will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from one hour prior to the service at the church.
