Obituary of Dorothy M. Wyatt

Dorothy Wyatt, 95, of Saluda, SC passed away December 5, 2014 at Saluda Nursing Center Saluda, SC. She was born on December 11, 1918 in Peak, SC, to the late Birdie Lawrence Hutto and Ruth (Swygert) Hutto. Dorothy was a loving wife and nurturing mother. She was a fantastic cook and was known for her fried chicken, roast beef, and many dishes that we remember. She loved to work in her yard and could raise the most amazing plants. Dot also liked to dance and loved her church work at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church. What Dot most enjoyed was her family. She loved spending time during family get-togethers and holidays. Dot's ease of laughter and smile will not be forgotten. Dorothy is survived by her son; Milton D. Marshe, Jr. (Gayle) of Saluda, SC; sisters, Carolyn H. Chabica, Barbara H. Dix both of Irmo, SC and Faye H. Swygert of Columbia, SC. Dorothy also leaves behind three grandchildren, Andrew Marshe of Atlanta, GA, Haley Calore (Jonathan), Kendall Marshe; and their mother, Barbara Marshe all of Columbia, SC; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Milton D Marshe, Sr. and Edwin F. Wyatt; her son, Don H. Marshe; her brother, Francis H. Hutto; and sisters, Vivian H. Bignon and Mary H. Shumpert. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209' on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209, with Reverend Terry Smoak officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, 4205 Kilbourne Road Columbia, SC 29206 and Saluda Nursing Center, Saluda, SC 29138.
